Itinerary

In the morning, meet your guide & head to Tepenene, a small community in the state of Puebla that has been making mezcal for more than 200 years. There, we will meet a member of a mezcal cooperative who will tell us about the history & production technique of this ancient beverage. Except for this, we will walk around agave fields and try some of the most exquisite local mezcal varieties.

Once ready, we will go to Atlixco, a "Magical Town" at the bottom of the Popocatepetl Volcano. There we will have a tour of a local artisanal brewery and taste some of its best beers.  After a walking tour around the historic center of the town and tastings of local specialties in the municipal market, we will move to our next stop - Cholula.

Considered a "Magical Town", this place is best known for its Great Pyramid with the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios sanctuary on top. Once there, we will have a walking tour of its historic center & visit the museum of a local cider producer. After a full day of discoveries, return to our vehicle & relax on the way back to Mexico City. End of "Mexico: Mezcal, beer & cider tour to Puebla".

DEPARTURE LOCATION & TIME
The default departure times for this tour are 6 am & 7 am but we can also adjust them per your request. Our guide will meet/pick you up at the requested time & might need to contact you by phone. Therefore, please kindly provide a valid phone number during your booking.
Complimentary pick-up/drop-off is included: please indicate the exact time & location for your pick-up during your booking (e.g. in the "Special Requirements" field). That is to say, we can pick you up from those parts of Mexico City: Polanco, Condesa, Roma, Centro Historico. Other more remote locations might involve an extra fee.

TOUR DURATION & CUSTOMIZATION
The standard duration of the tour counts from the moment of a meetup till the end of the tour. On the other hand, the tour is customizable which means we can adjust the time you spend in each destination. For example, if you want to visit an extra location (attraction/restaurant/market, etc.), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) fits the default duration of the tour &  (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route.
