Join our 5-day Weekend Getaway tour to Belize and its beautiful island of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. Once there, you will understand what Madonna meant in her famous "La Isla Bonita" song... There you will feel the "tropical island breeze" against your skin and witness "all the nature wild and free" - from nurse sharks, sea turtles, eagle rays, and tropical fish at the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, to ubiquitous howler monkeys and colorful toucans.

Itinerary

Day 1: airport - Belize City - San Pedro

Arrive at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport and meet your guide/driver who will bring you to Belize City. On your way, enjoy a short orientation tour of Belizean capital, seeing its main attractions from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle. Afterward, embark a water taxi (your guide will help you with it) & enjoy a 1.5h boat ride to San Pedro - a paradisiac island that will be your home for the next 5 days. Once there, take a local golf-car "taxi" & get transferred to your hotel. Check-in & free time.

• Activities: orientation tour of Belize City by car

Day 2: San Pedro

Free program: decide by yourself whether to relax sipping a cocktail by the hotel pool, chill on the beach, snorkel, or go to discover the island. In the evening, don't miss San Pedros's sunset before exploring the island’s culinary diversity on an evening food tour.

Day 3: San Pedro - Hol Chan Marine Reserve - San Pedro

In the morning, after breakfast, embark on a catamaran and go for a 7h snorkel tour. This trip will have several stops with Hol Chan Marine Reserve as the main attraction. Translated from Mayan as a ‘Little Channel’, this is officially the oldest marine protected area in the country. Except for snorkeling, this tour includes fruits, lunch, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. After the tour, return to your hotel & keep enjoying your vacations.

Day 4: San Pedro

Day 5: San Pedro - Belize City - airport

Last day of our tour: choose whether to go back home & get transferred to the airport (water taxi to Belize City followed by a private airport transfer) or extend your vacations & stay longer. If you decide to stay, your airport transfer can be postponed to another day.

ACCOMMODATIONS: An exact list of accommodations is sent together with trip notes 2 weeks before the departure date. All accommodations are 5-star (or similar) properties that have an outdoor pool & private facilities in each room.

TRANSPORT: The type of vehicle used for airport transfers depends on the size of the group and may include a car, 7-seater, minivan.

WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU: Comfortable clothes & shoes; swimming suit, towel, & slippers; a smaller backpack for day tours; hat/cap, sunglasses & sunscreen; travel insurance; good mood & curiosity.
